At Bellavista we know angling! We have been providing angling holidays for many years. Over the years we have evolved and changed and constantly updated our fleet to meet the needs of our returning customers. Our fleet is a mix of modern boats and powerful engines fitted with state-of the-art electronic equipment. The boats are perfect for getting you and your crew to the fishing grounds with speed, safety and comfort. We have a fleet of 21ft self-drive boats made up of a mixture of 6.6 meter Admiral Tunas and Gemi Centre Console Walk Around boats. These boats are fully fitted for inshore or deep sea angling in Cork Harbour. The boats were carefully selected as one of the safest and optimally designed boats for the inshore sea angler. Fitted with 80 and 100 HP four stroke engines, these boats are swift and make sure that you can get the most out of your fishing time in the harbour. There is also VHF radio, Garmin GPS / Plotter and Garmin Fish finder all fitted as standard. Each boat can fish up to maximum of five people.
Cork Harbour is the second biggest natural harbour in the world. It offers sheltered fishing in all but the strongest winds and there is a wealth of species that can be found inside the harbour. During small boat competitions, nearly all of the species can be caught within the safety of the harbour. There is something for every type of sea angler – specimens are common and there are several Irish records that have been caught here.
What can you expect from a fishing holiday at the Bellavista? Cork harbour has very diverse habitats offering fishing for species such as bass, pollack, codling and wrasse. There are great opportunities to fish for conger eels, rays and other flat fish like plaice, turbot, flounders and dabs. On the offshore reefs and wrecks you will target pollack, cod, haddock and ling as well as congers, gurnards and other bottom dwellers. You can see there are many choices for the angler, both lure fishing and bait fishing.
The waters around Cork are famous for shark fishing. During the summer and autumn months blue sharks are a popular target for anglers. Fishing for sharks from your self-drive boat is an exciting prospect. There are few places around the world where a 100+lb fish is so easily accessible. We can provide you with all you need to successfully target these superb looking and strong fighting fish.
